Blaze is the English word for a bright "flame" or "fire", used as a bold modern first name. It is also an American respelling of Blaise, the name of an early Christian saint, which goes back to the Latin Blasius and is usually explained as "lisping". Blaze has sat in the US top 1000 continuously since 2000, peaked at number 707 in 2015 and ranks number 781 among boys in 2025.
