Banx is a modern spelling of Banks, the English surname for someone who lived on a "hillside" or "riverbank". The final x follows the pattern of Jax, Knox and Bronx and gives the name a sharp, streetwise edge. Banx had fewer than five births in 2000 and was still at number 8112 in 2015, then climbed fast after 2019, peaked at number 2174 in 2023 and ranks number 2455 in 2025 with 55 boys.
