Aviana is a modern name that is usually explained as a blend of Ava and Ariana or Viviana, though it is also linked to the Latin avis, "bird", and the medieval name Avienne. It has the flowing, Italian-sounding shape that made names like Gianna and Liliana popular. Aviana entered the US top 1000 in 2011, peaked at number 393 in 2016 and has since eased back to number 887 in 2025.
