Athena is the name of the Greek goddess of wisdom, craft and strategic war, the protector of Athens; its meaning is unknown and probably predates Greek, so it is usually read simply as "goddess of wisdom". The Parthenon was built in her honor. Athena ranked number 530 in 2000, entered the top 100 in 2021 and peaked at number 76 in 2023, and in 2025 it stands at number 109.
