Aryana is a spelling of Ariana, the Italian form of Ariadne, which comes from Greek and means "most holy". The name also matches Aryana, the ancient Greek term for the eastern Iranian lands, which gives it a second life among Persian and Afghan families. In the United States Aryana ranked number 1104 in 2000, entered the top 1000 in 2003 and peaked at number 715 in 2014; it has since slipped to number 2101 among girls' names in 2025.
