Arsalan is the Persian and Urdu form of the Turkic Arslan and means "lion". The Seljuk sultan Alp Arslan, who defeated the Byzantines at Manzikert in 1071, carried the name into history, and it is common today in Iran, Pakistan and Turkey. In the United States Arsalan has risen from number 7100 in 2015 to a peak of number 2032 in 2023 and ranks number 2287 in 2025.
