Aloura is a modern American spelling of Alora, itself a 20th-century coinage that is usually explained as a variant of Elora or as a reshaping of the Latin Laura, "laurel"; the ou spelling adds the sound of the word allure. The name was rare at number 8574 in 2000, moved up sharply after 2021 and reached its best rank of 2934 in 2024, standing at number 2959 in 2025.
