Ailany is a modern name of uncertain origin, most often explained through the Hawaiian Ailani, "high chief" or "heavenly ruler", and shaped by the sound of names like Aylin and Alani. It is one of the fastest-rising names in the SSA records: almost unknown in 2000, Ailany entered the top 1000 in 2023, jumped to number 101 in 2024 and to fourteenth place in 2025.
