Aero is a modern word name taken from the Greek aer, meaning "air", the same root found in aeroplane and aerodynamics. It appeals to parents who like short, futuristic names such as Arrow, Axel and Apollo. In the United States Aero ranked around number 3300 through the mid-2010s and reached number 2108 among boys' names in 2025, its best rank so far.
