Adaline is a spelling variant of Adeline, which goes back to the Germanic adal and means "noble" or "nobility". The 2015 film The Age of Adaline, about a woman who stops aging, gave this spelling its moment: the name jumped from number 365 in 2015 to number 172 in 2016. Adaline entered the US top 1000 that same year, 2015, and has held in the top 300 since, ranking number 208 in 2025, with Adeline, Adalynn and Adalyn charting separately.
