Adah is a Hebrew name that means "adornment" or "ornament". In Genesis it belongs to the wife of Lamech, the first woman after Eve to be named in the Bible, and later to a wife of Esau; the Puritans brought it to New England, and it is now a quiet alternative to the fast-rising Ada. Adah stood at number 2123 in 2015, peaked at number 1687 in 2020 and ranks 1818 in 2025.
