Zaxton is a modern American coinage that puts a Z in front of the popular -axton names Paxton, Jaxton and Braxton; the ending -ton comes from the Old English word for a "settlement" or farmstead, but the name as a whole has no traditional meaning. It had fewer than five births in 2000 and was still at number 5505 in 2015, then shot up to a peak of number 1410 in 2022 before easing to number 2477 in 2025 with 55 boys.
