Zariya is a modern name of uncertain origin, usually seen as an elaboration of Zaria or Zariah; it is often connected to the Arabic Zahra, "flower" or "blossoming", and sometimes to the Slavic Zarya, "dawn". It belongs to the group of melodic Z names that American parents took up in the 2000s. Zariya ranked number 4976 in the United States in 2000, peaked at number 1855 in 2011 and stood at number 2255 in 2025.
