Zara is usually explained as a form of the Arabic Zahra, "flower" or "blossom", though in English it has also served as a variant of Sarah, "princess". Zara Tindall, daughter of Princess Anne, gave it a royal connection, and the Spanish fashion chain has made the sound familiar everywhere. Zara entered the US top 1000 in 2005 and has moved up from number 402 in 2015 to a peak of number 201 in 2022, ranking number 212 in 2025.
