Zarek is of uncertain origin; it is usually explained either as a Polish pet form of Cezary, the Polish Caesar, or as linked to the Hebrew Zerah, meaning "dawn" or "shining", and in America it reads mostly as a bold Z-name beside Zane and Zander. Zarek ranked number 2297 in 2000 and drifted as low as 8287 in 2022, then surged from number 4070 in 2024 to number 1866 in 2025, its best rank on record.
