Yasiel is a Spanish-language form of the biblical Jasiel or Jaasiel, a Hebrew name usually translated as "made by God". It became known across the United States through Cuban-born outfielder Yasiel Puig, who burst onto the scene with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2013. Yasiel climbed to number 1706 in 2018, has moved between number 2000 and 2650 since and stands at number 1916 in 2025.
