Vanna is a short form of Giovanna and Ivana, the Italian and Slavic feminine forms of John, so it carries their meaning "God is gracious"; it is also used as a pet form of Vanessa and is a Cambodian name in its own right. Americans know it best from Vanna White, who has turned the letters on Wheel of Fortune since 1982. Vanna stood at number 6471 in 2000, reached number 2543 in 2017 and stands at number 2930 in 2025 with 58 births.
