Vallie is a vintage American pet form of Valerie and Valentina, names that go back to the Latin valere, "to be strong" or "healthy". It was a common country name in the South around 1900 and has returned as part of the fashion for old nicknames like Hallie and Callie. Vallie was far outside the top 10,000 in 2015, climbed to number 2532 in 2024 and reached number 1879 in 2025, its best rank so far.
