Talha is an Arabic name that refers to a "fruit-bearing tree", usually explained as an acacia or a banana tree. Talha ibn Ubaydullah was one of the closest companions of the Prophet Muhammad, which keeps the name popular among Muslim families from Turkey to Pakistan. In the United States it has stayed well outside the top 1000: number 2520 in 2000, mostly between number 2700 and 4000 since, and number 2831 in 2025.
