Taelyn is a modern American coinage that joins the Tae- or Tay- sound of Taylor with the popular -lyn ending, so it is best read as "a name in the style of Taylor", which itself means tailor. It appeared in the early 2000s together with Kaelyn, Jaelyn and Raelyn. Taelyn ranked number 5471 in 2000, peaked at number 1560 in 2010 and has drifted back to number 2563 in 2025.
