Sahari is a modern American coinage usually linked to Sahara, from the Arabic word for "desert", or read as a blend of Sarah and the fashionable -ari ending. It has no long history as a given name and lives mostly on its warm, open sound. In the United States Sahari was still at number 10033 in 2015 and has climbed in jumps to number 2534 in 2025, its highest rank to date.
