Renesmee is an invented name: Stephenie Meyer created it for the daughter of Bella and Edward in Breaking Dawn (2008), the last book of the Twilight series, by blending Renée and Esme, the names of the girl's two grandmothers. Renée means "reborn" and Esme "beloved" or "esteemed". The name did not exist before the books; in the US it has stayed in the 1300 to 1700 range for a decade, peaked at number 1316 in 2024 and ranks number 1538 in 2025.
