Nylah is a modern spelling of Nyla, a name of uncertain origin that is usually explained as a form of the Arabic Naila, "winner" or "one who attains", or linked to the Sanskrit nila, "blue". The final h follows the pattern of Aaliyah and Amirah. Nylah entered the US top 1000 in 2008, peaked at number 363 in 2019 and ranks number 504 in 2025.
