Noura is an Arabic name derived from nur and means "light". It is a widely used feminine form of Nur across the Arab world, especially in the Gulf states and North Africa, and the spelling with ou reflects French transliteration. In the United States Noura has become a little more common in recent years: it ranked number 4933 in 2000, was still at number 3902 in 2015 and climbed to number 2094 in 2024 before settling at number 2232 in 2025.
