Nahmir is a modern American name that blends the sound of Arabic names like Amir, "prince" or "commander", with the fashionable Nah- opening heard in Nasir and Nahla. It has no traditional meaning of its own, and its rise is tied to the Alabama rapper YBN Nahmir, whose breakout single in 2017 was followed by a jump from number 11751 that year to number 2657 in 2018. The name peaked at number 2402 in 2021 and ranks number 2634 in 2025 with 50 boys.
