Miran is a name with several independent roots: in Slovenia and Croatia it comes from the Slavic mir and means "peace", in Kurdish and Persian it is read as "princes" or "lords", and it is also used in Korea. That mix makes it an easy fit for families from very different backgrounds. In the United States Miran was rare until the late 2010s, jumped from number 3540 in 2019 to a peak of number 1961 in 2022 and ranks number 2032 in 2025.
