Mileena is a modern spelling of Milena, a Slavic name from the element mil, which means "gracious" or "dear". The double e spelling was introduced by the Mortal Kombat video games, where Mileena has been a character since 1993, which is why the name shows up mostly in the United States. Mileena ranked number 5867 in 2000, peaked at number 1597 in 2021 and stands at number 1974 in 2025.
