Maryjane joins two classics into one: Mary, from the Hebrew Miryam, most often explained as "beloved" or "wished-for child", and Jane, from the Hebrew for "God is gracious". The double name has a wholesome, old-fashioned American flavor, familiar from Spider-Man's Mary Jane Watson. As one word Maryjane entered the top 1000 in 2005, peaked at number 890 in 2009 and has slipped to number 1840 in 2025.
