Lettie is an old English pet form of Letitia, a Latin name that means "joy" or "gladness", and it was also used for Lettice and Charlotte. It belongs to the Victorian nursery alongside Hattie, Nellie and Lottie, and like them it has been rediscovered by parents who want something sweet and old-fashioned. Lettie entered the US top 1000 in 2024 and ranks number 757 in 2025, its best rank in roughly a century.
