Lenore is a short form of Eleanor, a name of uncertain origin usually traced to the Old Provençal Alienor and often explained as "light" or "the other Aenor". Edgar Allan Poe made it unforgettable as the lost Lenore in The Raven, which gives the name a gothic, literary glow.
