Kymir is a modern American name, most likely a blend of the trendy Ky- sound found in Kyrie and Kymani with Amir, the Arabic word for "prince" or "commander". It belongs to a group of contemporary coinages that are popular in African American families. In the United States Kymir has risen sharply, from number 6909 in 2015 to a best rank of number 1303 in 2023, and stands at number 1385 in 2025.
