Jamir is a modern American name of uncertain origin; it is usually explained as a form of the Arabic Jamil, "handsome", or as a blend of the popular Ja- prefix with Amir, "prince". It is used mainly in African-American families and has a sibling in the spelling Jameer. Jamir has been in the US top 1000 since 2002, peaked at number 524 in 2023 and ranks number 592 in 2025.
