Kooper is a K spelling of Cooper, the English occupational surname for a "barrel maker". It follows the fashion of swapping C for K seen in Kayden and Kolton, which gives a familiar name a more distinctive look. In the United States Kooper sat between number 1000 and 1100 for most of the past decade, entered the top 1000 at number 980 in 2022 and ranks number 1024 in 2025.
