Kior is a very recent American coinage with no established origin; it reads as a crisp blend of names such as Kai, Kyro and Kairo and is best described as "a modern invented name". Short names that start with K and end in a vowel sound have been a growing trend for boys in the 2020s. Kior went from number 8440 in 2020 to number 2248 in 2024 and reached number 2158 in 2025, its best rank so far.
