Khristian is a respelling of Christian, which comes from the Latin christianus and means "follower of Christ". The Kh- opening mirrors the Greek letter chi at the start of Christos and gives the familiar name a distinctive look. In the United States Khristian peaked at number 1319 in 2013 and has slipped to number 2862 in 2025.
