Kemari is a modern American name on the pattern of Jamari, Amari and Kamari, rhythmic three-syllable coinages popular in African-American families; like Kamari it is sometimes linked to the Arabic qamar, "moon". The Ke- opening connects it to names such as Kemar and Keon. Kemari ranked number 4004 in 2000, peaked at number 1598 in 2009 and stands at number 1954 in 2025.
