Kayomi is a modern American coinage that blends the sound of Kay or Kaia with Naomi, the Hebrew name meaning "pleasantness". It also recalls the Japanese Kiyomi, "pure beauty", which gives the name an international feel even though it is not a traditional Japanese form. Kayomi first appeared in the national data in 2019 at number 11887, has climbed every year since and reaches its best rank, number 2448, in 2025 with 73 girls.
