Kamarion is a modern American coinage that extends Kamari, itself a name of uncertain origin often linked to the Arabic qamar, "moon", with the fashionable ending -ion heard in Demarion and Jamarion. It has no history before the 1990s and is most popular in African American families. Kamarion peaked at number 1093 in 2009, has never entered the top 1000 and ranks number 1481 in 2025, up from number 1746 in 2015.
