Kaliana is a modern name of uncertain origin, usually read as an elaboration of Kali or a blend of Kali and Liana or Ana; some parents also link it to the Sanskrit Kalyani, meaning "beautiful" or "auspicious". It fits the current taste for flowing four-syllable names ending in -ana. Kaliana is rare in the United States, with a peak at number 2700 in 2018 and number 2734 in 2025.
