Juelz is a modern American respelling of Jules, the French form of Julius, a Roman family name usually explained as "youthful" or "downy-bearded"; the z ending also plays on the word jewels. The spelling was made familiar by Harlem rapper Juelz Santana of The Diplomats in the early 2000s. Juelz sat in the US top 1000 from 2009 to 2021 with a peak of number 781 in 2017 and ranks at number 1592 in 2025.
