Jaylah is a modern American elaboration of Jayla, built from the popular syllable Jay and the ending of Kayla and Aaliyah. It has no traditional meaning; parents usually hear the "jay" bird in it or read it as a feminine form of Jay. Jaylah entered the top 1000 in 2006, peaked at number 235 in 2013, was still at number 483 in 2015, then declined and ranks number 1321 in 2025.
