Jaisley is a recent American coinage that blends the Jay- sound of Jaycee and Jaylee with Paisley, the Scottish town whose name goes back to the Latin basilica, "church", and which gave the teardrop pattern its name. It has no history of its own and is best understood as a cousin of Paisley with a J. Jaisley ranked number 12292 in 2015, was number 4708 in 2024 and jumped to number 1822 in 2025, its highest rank so far.
