Isidro is the Spanish form of Isidore, from the Greek Isidoros, "gift of Isis", the Egyptian goddess. San Isidro Labrador, the farmer saint of Madrid, made the name a favorite in Spain, Mexico and the Philippines, and his feast on May 15 is still a day of blessing the fields. Isidro ranked number 951 in 2000, its last year inside the top 1000, and has stayed between number 1755 and number 2274 since 2015, ranking 1815 in 2025.
