Giuliano is the Italian form of Julian, from the Roman family name Julius, which is traditionally explained as "downy-bearded" or "youthful". Giuliano de' Medici, brother of Lorenzo the Magnificent, carried it in Renaissance Florence. In the United States Giuliano is used chiefly in Italian American families; it has crept up from around number 3400 to number 2850 in 2025, its best rank so far.
