Gianella is an Italian diminutive of Gianna, the short form of Giovanna, so it ultimately means "God is gracious" through the Hebrew Yochanan. It is used more in Latin America, especially Peru and Argentina, than in Italy itself, and the double ending gives it the sound of Antonella and Daniella. Gianella has risen from number 3293 in 2000 to a peak of number 2006 in 2023 and ranks number 2160 in 2025.
