Fiorella is an Italian name built from fiore, the word for flower, with a diminutive ending, so it means "little flower". It is well established in Italy and in Italian communities in Argentina and Peru. In the United States Fiorella has always been rare, ranking number 4846 in 2000, but it has grown slowly and reached number 2084 in 2025, its highest position so far.
