Emiliana is the Italian and Spanish feminine of Emiliano, from the Roman family name Aemilius, which is usually explained as "rival" or "eager", from the Latin aemulus. It stretches the familiar Emilia into a four-syllable romantic form. Emiliana has risen quietly with the popularity of Emilia and Emiliano: it entered the US top 1000 in 2022 and reached number 789 in 2025, its highest rank so far.
