Eevee is a phonetic spelling of Evie, the pet form of Eve and Evelyn; Eve goes back to the Hebrew Chavah and means "life" or "living". The double-e spelling is also the name of a beloved fox-like Pokemon, which is where many younger parents first met it. In the United States Eevee has risen from number 5517 in 2015 to number 2360 in 2023, its best rank, and stands at number 2370 in 2025.
