Dino is an Italian short form of names ending in -dino such as Bernardino or Corradino, and it is often explained through Bernardino as "brave as a bear". In the United States it is remembered from singer Dean Martin, born Dino Crocetti, and his son Dino, as well as from the band Dino, Desi & Billy. Dino ranked 1704 among US boys in 2000 and has stayed between numbers 2594 and 3741 over the past decade, ranking 2808 in 2025.
