Delia is a Greek name that means "from Delos", the island where the goddess Artemis was born; poets used it as one of her titles. In Spanish-speaking countries it is also a short form of Adelia and Cordelia, and the lively heroine Delia in Victorian and Edwardian stories kept it in use in English. Delia stood at number 959 in the US in 2000, dropped out of the top 1000 soon after and ranks number 1561 in 2025.
